2007 Tres Chic Style Fashionista.....

Okay, I seriously doubt that this little blog of mine qualifies me to rate celebrity styles and fashions..........
However, as an obsessed fashionista, stylist and fashion writer, I'll do what I damn well please and give you a list of Fashionistas who made the cut in 2007.
Fashionista, according to The Merriam Webster Dictionary........
fash·ion·is·ta, (N)Pronunciation: \ˌfa-shə-ˈnēs-tə\
a designer, promoter, or follower of the latest fashions

Tres Chic Style's Interpretation of a Fashionista........
A savvy individual that embraces this fab word of fashion wholeheartedly. Never afraid to take fashion risk or "dress outside of the box" while keeping it effortlessly classy & chic.

Below you'll find a few of my favorites who may just be crowned Tres Chic Style Fashionista for 2007. We'll open up the floor up for comments and suggestions at this time.

In the meantime, the nominees are...........

While money can't exactly garner you style, Victoria Beckham has upped the ante on her style game since her Posh Spice Days...... This fashionista works a carpet like no other, all while keeping us fixated on her countless custom made Birkin Bags & Chic Moon Dresses.

While Posh' BFF Katie Holmes is jet setting around the globe with hubby Tom Cruise & Baby Suri, she still finds a little time to grace the cover of January's InStyle and become our favorite Fashionista of the Year. We told you earlier this year she was glamming it up......

Our favorite Social Butterfly & Red Carpet Style Maven , Kerry Washington has done little in her acting career in 2007, but managed to glam it up Fashionista Style.......

Sleep on this style maven if you want to.......Angie Harmon has always kept her style game in tact on the Red Carpets, Gap Ads, at socialite events, charity soirees or a Tinseltown baby shower affair.

Side Note: We all know Beyonce does her thing when it comes to fashion, so there's no need to bombard you with yet another fab photo of the lovely songstress. While we applaud the efforts of Serena Williams & Jennifer Hudson, we opted to award them honorable mentions this time around. Rihanna, we've been watching you and the verdict's still out on your Fashionista status......

**Stay tuned to see who may be added to the list and who is our Breakthrough Fashionista of the Year.....

I'm really enjoying this site, and there are plenty of useful links. I think it is great Kerry White is nominated for fashionista of the year and I like Katie Holmes' style also; however, at the risk of sounding hypersensitive I have to make one comment. Why is Holmes referred to as a favorite fashionista and Washington referred to as a favorite party hopper and red carpet whore? Am I correct in my understanding that this is an African American blog? Would it not be offensive if the same comments were made on a white fashion blog? It is possibly more offensive for me to read a comment like thist on a site that is supposedly for us and by us. I'm sure there was no negativity intended but I just thought it important to note. I really think far too often we internalize a lot of the negativity that is projected onto us as people of color and begin to view ourselves through the same blurred lenses as those who continue to believe we are not good enough, smart enough or beautiful enough to truly compete with their eurocentric standards of excellence.

Okay, Thanks for the comment!
Let me just clarify a few things for you.

Since the inception of this blog I've referred to Kerry Washington as a Red-Carpet Maven or Party-Hopper. It's a known fact that she's literally at every celebrity event. She makes her rounds on the social scene as well. In the world of fashion (writing at least) The term "Shoe Whore", "Red Carpet Whore" are playful terms used to express folks with an obsession.
I'm a self-proclaimed shoe whore and make no apologies for it.
Second, If you read the blog like you claim, you would know I've posted countless times about Katie Holmes being my Favorite Fashionista.

While I appreciate your comments, I believe your taking things a little out of context. As far as the Black/White thing....I only see fashion.
Now if your concerned about African American Blogs projecting negativity on each other, visit the folks over at Bossip, SandraRose, & YBF and comment on some of their blog articles.
