Macy's Big Move......

According to published reports our 34th St. Flagship Macy's may be getting a new address. Macys is currently in early negotiations to relocate to the "New 34th St Penn Station", it is assumed that the powerhouse retailer will have exits that lead directly into the subways.

Macy's has a been a fixture in Herald Square since 1902 and appropriately dubbed the "World's Larget Store" with over 1 million square feet of retail space. In addition to this locale being a shopping oasis with it's very own postal station (so tourist can shop & ship) it boast an array of fine dining & specialty shops.

Macy's has introduced Lush and Carol's Daughter cosmetics, Frango Mint lip balm, in-house "M" magazine, the Midwest's only Tous handbag shop, a "stylista" to help shoppers with fashion choices, Wi-Fi Internet access in certain areas, Sarah's Candies & Pastries shop, and the Faberge shop next to Baccarat crystal and Kosta Boda Scandinavian art glass.
Despite the fabulous shopping & services, The Chicago Times reports it's just not enough.....
Personally, I love the flagship store in Herald Square, I can spend an entire day there. I can't quite grasp on to the idea of Macy's moving anywhere. Sure some of the escalators are constructed out of the original wood (and frighten me to death at times) and the floors creek from time to time....But it's Macy's and for a fashionista like me....It's Home!
