Project Runway Bound.....

My little sister & BFF Shante proudly displaying our first creations....

I was so excited about my new Singer 3116, reading the manual cover to cover, even hitting up the Singer Website and still not a stitch to be sewn.

I decided to make a trip to the local Sav-a-Thon (fabric shop) and possibly get a little tutorial on the machine. My little sister and I schlepped this machine to the store and prayed they carried the 3116 in the showroom and fortunately they did. We met the nicest associate/Singer machineexpert. He was very helpful and pointed out that there was actually something stuck in the machine preventing my sewing adventures. In less than 5 minutes he had my machine working and was even kind enough to give us a few tips on threading and stitching........
We literally raced home with a quick stop to the nail salon and returned ready to sew our lives away. I told you about the Butterick Patterns I purchased last week.......Well let's just say I have to work on cutting my patterns before my first masterpiece is actually ready for presentation.

My sister decided to try her hand at a throw pillow. After a little frustration (we both have little patience) and crooked stitches we were so proud of our little creations, we had to share.....

Her throw pillow and my headband totally made us feel Project Runway Bound!

We'll keep you updated.....
